WW1 GERMAN OFFICERS PRIVATE PURCHASE TRENCH KNIFE S/N 0424

I've not seen the type of trench knife before with a 5.5" double edged unmarked blade with a ricasso and an S shaped crossguard The knife is 10" overall with a nickel silver ferrule and a large stag horn grip with a white metal top The knife has its original scabbard with 70% paint still on and it is scratched D HAYMAN on the back S/N 0424
Please Note there is half a strap missing
